First international vocation Einstein-Profile-Professorship program
With the support of the Einstein Foundation, Berlin's universities have succeeded in attracting three internationally renowned researchers to Berlin as a location for science on a permanent basis. Physicist Cecilia Clementi moves from Rice University to Freie Universität Berlin, neuroscientist Roberto Cabeza from Duke University to Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. The neurobiologist Benjamin Judkewitz could be kept at the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. They are the first to receive funding in the program line "Einstein Profile Professorship". The aim of this funding line is to specifically support the vocation of top international researchers who are of strategic importance for Berlin as a science location. The funding line will be generously supported by the Damp Foundation with private funds totalling 30 million euros. With the so-called Matching Funds of the State of Berlin, which add 50 percent to each private donation to the Einstein Foundation, the program for the acquisition of award-winning researchers has a total of around 45 million euros at its disposal.
