Berlin Neuroscience Meeting 2017
The Berlin Neuroscience Meeting took place on Friday, October 13, 2017 in the CCO. At the event, the Einstein Center for Neurosciences (ECN) celebrated its first “birthday” together with its partner institutions. In addition to networking and exchanging scientific ideas, the meeting provided an opportunity to welcome the first Einstein PhD cohort and introduce the new PhD students to the Berlin neuroscience scene.
NeuroCure BrainLab "Breakout-Session"
On Friday, May 12, 2017, clinical researchers and basic scientists from the Cluster visited the new neurosurgery operating rooms, the neurointensive care unit, and the emergency room in the recently renovated Charité highrise hospital building. The unique Stroke Emergency Mobile (STEMO), equipped with computed tomography (CT) and a small laboratory, was also on display. In the future, this state-of-the-art technology will be increasingly used in an interdisciplinary research approach to investigate mechanisms, acute and hyperacute diseases, and to develop new treatment options.
Hybrid operating room with MRI: Clinical and basic researchers discuss future projects in the new operating room.
STEMO: The stroke emergency mobile brings imaging techniques (CT) directly to the patient.
CCO Scientific Networking Event
The CCO Scientific Networking Event took place for the first time in February, 2017. The event was organized by postdocs and PhD students with the aim of promoting scientific exchange between early career researchers and working groups in the CharitéCrossOver research building. The program included lectures followed by a poster session.

Regular seminar series
The Neuroscience Colloquium is a weekly seminar series during the summer and winter terms (Thursdays 17:00-18:00) at which internationally renowned scientists present their current research. The event is followed by an informal get-together where attendees can continue to talk about science over pizza and beer.
NeuroCure Lunchtime Seminar
The Lunchtime Seminar is a seminar series organized by NeuroCure to provide a platform for early career scientists to present their current projects, discuss new methods and technical developments, and promote collaborations.
Introduced in early 2014, the NeuroCure Lunchtime Seminar is now firmly established and meets Wednesdays 12:15 - 13:15.
Career Development Seminar
The Career Development Seminar is a newly formed seminar series aimed at providing students and postdocs with insights into different career options and promoting interdisciplinary networking. Once a month, speakers discuss their professional career paths in and outside academia in fields such as R&D, consulting, publishing, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, and more.
The Neuroimmunological Colloquium offers scientists, physicians, and students a framework for exchanging ideas on topics related to neuroimmunology. The colloquium takes place Mondays 14:00-15:00.
The NCRC organizes an interdisciplinary seminar to promote exchange between basic scientists and clinicians. The NCRC Seminar serves as a discussion forum for scientists and physicians about ongoing research projects and promising results from basic research. The next NCRC seminar will meet on May 04, 2018.
